Right after college, Rubin Pfeffer Literary Agent was a designer at Harcourt Brace Jovanovich. He spent three decades there, in multiple positions. He was editor-in-chief, president, and art director. From there he transitioned to Pearson’s chief creative officer.

Rubin Pfeffer Literary Agent wanted to return to trade publishing, so he moved to Simon & Schuster Children’s Books, working as a vice president and publisher in 2003.

After years at Simon & Schuster, Rubin Pfeffer Literary Agent became an independent agent at East West Literary Agency in 2009. He found his passion working closely with authors and illustrators, in nurturing and strengthening their work, and in helping illustrators and writers demonstrate their potential to publishers.
