Nicole James Literary Agent was an agent with and the founder of The James Literary Agency. She is no longer taking submissions. Book Agent Nicole James received her BFA in Acting from The University of Colorado at Boulder and worked in Broadway production before joining The Aaron Priest Literary Agency in 2004. As Aaron Priest’s Foreign Rights Director, she sold and managed international and New York Times bestselling authors, including: Greg Iles, David Baldacci, Philip Caputo, and Robert Crais. She was an agent with the Chalberg & Sussman Literary Agency before she established her own agency.

Nicole James Literary Agent, after over twenty years in publishing, was more determined than ever to discover wonderful stories. She desired to help craft them and find the perfect publisher for them. She found that selling books is a thrill that never got old, and informed her authors the good news definitely doesn’t. Her past experience at the Aaron Priest taught her the business at legacy agency where some of the industry’s biggest household names were built. For the next several years, she built her list of clients while selling world English rights to international publishers. Developing a list of works translation was one of her passions.

Literary Agent Nicole James went on to join the esteemed agency Chalberg & Sussman, where she spent almost a decade expanding her editorial prowess and interests. She expanded into taking on more nonfiction titles.
