Book Agent Marly Rusoff was a bookseller and publishing executive who held Vice Presidential positions at Houghton Mifflin, Doubleday, William Morrow, and Carlisle & Company in New York before she founded her own agency in New York. At Doubleday she created the yearlong marketing plan for the launch of The Century by Peter Jennings and Todd Brewster. While at Doubleday, she also created the first Reading Group Guide specifically for book groups, a popular marketing tool widely used by publishers to encourage both sales and reading through active community interaction with books.

Marly Rusoff Literary Agent is happier when she works closely with authors. In her more than 20 years in publishing, she has participated in hundreds of book marketing and publicity campaigns, and has come away from the experiences with a keen sense of what it takes to make a book work. She plans to apply her knowledge in her own agency both shaping projects and seeing books to market, for a relatively small list of clients. Literary Agent Marly Rusoff studied at the University of Minnesota. She, and a group of writers, formed The Loft, a nationally recognized non-profit organization whose mission is to foster a writing community and an audience for literature.
