Kent Wolf Literary Agent – This article about Literary Agent Kent Wolf and Neon Literary is part of a series about literary agents and How to Find a Literary Agent. Publishing Agent Kent Wolf is an agent with Neon Literary. He co-founded the agency in 2020 and is the rights director. Book Agent Kent Wolf is a member of the Association of Authors’ Representatives and PEN. He started his career in publishing in 1997 at Dalkey Archive Press. From there, he moved to Harcourt Trade Publishers where he was the head of the Subsidiary Rights Department. He launched his agenting career in 2008. Most recently, he was a literary agent with The Friedrich Agency. He currently serves on the board of Lambda Literary and is a member of The Association of Authors’ Representatives.

Once told that he would “be more successful if he weren’t so intentionally weird,” Kent Wolf Literary Agent has sold multiple bestselling and award-winning books to publishers both small and large. His clients’ titles have been translated into dozens of languages and many are in active film/TV development. A lover of the bizarre, the profane, the dark, the unsettling, and the darkly funny, he is drawn to writing that occupies a literary uncanny valley and to authors who move the cultural needle through direct confrontation, the blurring of genres, self-interrogation, the bending of language, and damn good writing.

Literary Agent Kent Wolf’s authors include: New York Times Notable novelist Martin Seay (The Mirror Thief), Korea’s most celebrated fiction writer Kim Young-Ha (Diary of a Murderer), My authors include National Book Award finalist Carmen Maria Machado (Her Body and Other Parties), and NYT-bestselling essayist Samantha Irby (We Are Never Meeting in Real Life).
