Joseph Parsons Literary Agent was a literary agent with Holloway Literary. He is no longer taking submissions. Book Agent Joseph Parsons finished grad school at the University of Illinois and found his way to publishing—though not without a few detours along the way. He spent several years as a consultant and eight as an adjunct at Columbia College in Chicago.

Most recently, Literary Agent Joseph Parsons was a senior editor at the University of North Carolina Press, where he acquired widely in social sciences and humanities, as well as documentary arts, history, creative nonfiction, and current events. Among them was the winner of the 2017 Bancroft Prize.

Literary Agent Joseph Parsons edited the acclaimed Muse, Sightline, and New American Canon series at the University of Iowa Press. He has also worked as an independent editor and writer, journal editor for the National Humanities Center, and manuscript editor, as well as a reporter and researcher.
