Book Agent Don Gates’s agency works with ministry leaders and pastors across the country on a variety of ministry and literary endeavors. He represents more than thirty authors with over one hundred books in publication.

Prior to launching his agency, Don Gates Literary Agent was the Vice President of Marketing for Zondervan, the leading Christian communications company—a division of HarperCollins. He led a team of professionals on the creative, branding, promotions, advertising, and public relations for books as well as worked closely with editorial and sales in all decisions. He collaborated with some of the most accomplished authors and leaders in the Church, including: Anne Graham Lotz, Rick Warren, Philip Yancey, Lee Strobel, Chuck Colson, Ann Voskamp, and Max Lucado.

Before moving into ministry, Literary Agent Don Gates spent almost two decades in brand management and marketing. His last role was Brand Marketing Officer at YUM! Brands, responsible for A&W and Long John Silver’s. Previously, he was the Marketing Director of Hugs & Kisses at The Hershey Company; and started in brand management with The Campbell Soup Company.

Don Gates Literary Agent earned a BS Degree in Economics from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, where he played Ivy League football. He also earned a MBA Degree with a concentration in Finance and Management from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He plans to complete a Master’s of Divinity degree in Worldview and Apologetics at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
