He was 77 years old. Literary Agent George Nicholson was credited with introducing high-quality paperback publishing to the children’s book industry. Publishing Agent George Nicholson was educated at Carleton College in Northfield, Minn. He began his work in publishing in 1959 as President of Artist and Writers Guild – a firm partly owned by Western Printing and Lithographing, which published Golden Books. From there, he went to Dell Publishing, Holt, Viking, and Harper Collins.

George Nicholson Literary Agent joined Sterling Lord Literistic in 1995 as an agent for young adults and children’s books. Literary Agent George Nicholson taught and lectured widely, and published many articles about children’s literature. Additionally, he was on the Board of The MacDowell Colony in Peterborough, New Hampshire.
