From a very early age he wanted to be a writer, but for many years never really pursued it. Instead I took the easy (but boring) road, following a career in office jobs and retail stores. After much toil and struggle Steven Huston had his first book published in 2006 – the fulfillment of a lifetime dream. He attended writers’ conferences and sat at the feet of a couple of mentors. Encouraged by the others in his writers’ group, he went into business as a freelance editor, where he tackled assignments to edit books on every subject from Bible study to yoga to credit repair.

Finally, one day, Steven Huston Literary Agent received an email from a potential client who asked him to do something he had never done before: To recruit writers for a series of books, and then pitch the ideas to publishers. He knew most of the people he needed to make this happen, and most of them responded favorably. With this newfound confidence he felt emboldened to set up shop as a literary agent. Literary Agent Steven Huston’s expertise, both in my writing and editing, is in nonfiction. But if you send us a novel, it will be handled by his wife Ruth. Once an aspiring novelist and screenwriter, she’s much better at fiction than he is.
